Day 22: God’s Special Treasure

By Chalcedony Williams

The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel: You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”

Exodus 19:3b-6 (ESVUK)

Day 21: Listen to Wise Counsel

By Chalcedony Williams

13 The next day Moses sat to judge the people. And the people stood around Moses from morning until evening. 14 When Moses’ father-in-law saw all he was doing for the people, he said, “What is this that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone and judge and all the people stand around you from morning until evening?” 15 Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to learn God’s will. 16 When they argue, they come to me. And I judge between a man and his neighbor. I teach them the Laws of God.” 17 Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good.

Day 20: Yahweh-Nissi

By Christopher Dryden

14 After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses, “Write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua: I will erase the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-Nissi (which means “the Lord is my banner”). 16 He said, “They have raised their fist against the Lord’s throne, so now the Lord will be at war with Amalek generation after generation.”

Exodus 17:14-16
