What is this journey? Who is this journeyman?
The message came to follow Him in various stages. The journeyman had started when he was told to leave the comfort of his home to pursue studies.
At 21, it became more apparent that his attachment to home would have to change. Thus began a series of moves where he discovered what it was like to walk by faith as the comforts of regular income and a job were taken away to be replaced by sporadic voluntary opportunities. At the time, he experienced why God had called him on the journey. In all the activities and projects, it was clear that he was supposed to be getting somewhere with God. Getting distracted by some activities and getting used to the new concept of responsibility in marriage, he was eventually stopped on the wrong tracks and sternly rebuked to return to the path God had set for him.
The journey was about getting to know God more through the Word and key relationships. The more he learned about this journey, the more he was taken away from the familiar to new experiences that stretched his faith and understanding of God further. Yet there was more to be learnt by journeying as he emerged from shadows and walked in the light of the Lord, trusting Him solely in the journey.
Through episodes, it was clear that the journey was calling him deeper and further, calling him away from the old that held him back and into something new, despite it being again an experience in the unknown.
To prepare him for this, the journey would require him to take a sojourn into conversing with God all the more intimately.
Over the last few years, there have been developments regarding content creation. There has been a phase of producing YouTube videos for a ministry and then producing TikTok videos on the March Thru Proverbs theme. There’s also been a successful launch and series of uploads on this joint venture website. That is among other developments in work and family.
What inspires this – and there’s no guarantee about the frequency of blogging in this season, but I’d certainly like it to be more regular – is the sense in which it’s time to look again at the journey: the journey so far and the journey to come.
My name is Christopher Dryden. I am committed to following Jesus step by step. The following is intentional, and the goal is to be more and more like Him. As He lived to bring glory to the Father, I want to complete the assignments given to me so He can be glorified.
